29th-Jun-2009 07:02 pm - Week of Food Deprivation
I Had Dreams Too...
Just a warning:

During this week, Mello has fallen into a lapse of depression, hence his slight inactivity. Reasons for this are as follows:

1: The Experiment.
- It stole half of his chocolate. That alone pisses him off, but also, he doesn't want to unleash his anger on his punching bag because he wants to conserve his energy to prepare himself for the length of time spent without food.

2: Sakura's death.
- Mostly because of Kadaj, Mello sees Sakura as a little sister. Also, because of his soft spot for children, he's a little disturbed by the fact she was so brutally murdered in the brawl she wasn't even participating in.

3: Kadaj's death.
- Yeah, he's still BAAAWing over it, mostly because it strengthened his inferiority complex with yet another "I'm just a weak human" slap to the face (Kadaj took the bullet FOR HIM, and the fact that Velvet Nightmare's bullet went astray in the first place was also partially Mello's fault).

4: Willow's rejection.
- After Kadaj's death, Mello couldn't express his pain with the other Wammy Children, the mock-sympathetic Misa, or Kadaj's brothers, nor would he make Sakura or Yoite have to put up with it. His only outlet was Willow, who, after a brief "It wasn't your fault" and a blunt apology, cut the feed while he was trying to talk to her. Mello feels horribly like Willow thinks it WAS his fault, and that made for a huge extra wave of misery at the concept that his "Mother" was upset with him.

5: Yoite's disappearance.
- Mostly because Yoite was, in Mello's mind, the image of what A would have been like, Mello felt a strong urge to protect him. Yoite was pretty much like his little brother, and the Master/Slave Week and the Age Regression Week enhanced those feelings. Yoite has been unexplainedly terminated (not that the terminations are ever explained...) and Mello isn't happy about that.

6: Beyond Birthday's presence.
- While Mello is very fascinated by the arrival of one of the "original" Wammy Children, Beyond creeps him out a great deal. There are many reasons, but the main three are the fact Beyond has the eyes, the great interest he has in Light Yagami, and the utter fascination he has with death and pain, particularly that which he expressed towards Near and Kadaj.

7: Misa's betrayal.
- Enough said.

8: The Remnants' arrivals.
- He feels second best to Kadaj's brothers, after a long period of time satisfied with his lot.

9: Near's victory.
- Mello tried his hardest during the Race of Hope's End to sabotage his team so that they WOULD NOT win, simply because he knew Near would bring a Death Note into the Facility, which Mello, for many reasons, did not want. Once again, Near tore his ambitions to shreds.

10: Sündigen's return.
- Despite his volitile attitude, Mello hates killing people. Since his gun has been returned to him, he feels as though the Doctor is mocking his old ways and trying to get him to go back to murdering, the only "talent" he had that was not outweighed by the other Wammy Children.
